Introducing the Investigations Feature in v6.0.5.0

We are pleased to announce the release of version v6.0.5.0, which includes a new feature named Investigations. This enhancement is designed to streamline the process of collecting and managing multimedia data.

Accessing the Investigations Interface

The Investigations user interface (UI) can be accessed through the server menu. This centralized interface allows you to efficiently gather and organize video, audio, and image files in one location.

Key Features of Investigations
  • Data Collection: Seamlessly collect video, audio, and image files.
  • Commenting: Add comments to provide context and insights.
  • Detail Tracking: Monitor and track essential details related to each investigation.
  • Data Export: Download all collected data as a comprehensive ZIP file.
Creating a New Investigation

To initiate a new investigation:

  1. Click the plus (+) button.
  2. Enter a name for the investigation.
  3. Add an initial comment to provide context.
  4. Click OK to create the investigation.

Return to this view later to review the media you have added, download individual files, or remove content as needed.

Adding Media to an Investigation

Enhance your investigation by adding relevant media files:

  • Navigate to the Files or Photos view.
  • Enter edit mode by clicking the edit icon.
  • Select the desired content to add.
  • Click the plus (+) button in the toolbar to include the selected media. Add a comment and click OK.

Additionally, you can add files to an investigation while they are playing back or extract a specific section from a file using the Cut tool and add it directly to the investigation via the new UI.

Downloading Investigations

Once you have gathered all necessary media and details, you can download the entire investigation as a ZIP file for easy sharing and archival purposes. Alternatively, you can edit the investigation to download specific files.

Upon completion of an investigation, you have the option to either delete it (note that deleting an investigation will not remove the captured media) or disable it by toggling the On/Off switch in the editor to remove it from the UI options.

We believe the Investigations feature will significantly enhance your ability to manage and analyze multimedia data efficiently.
